Retro arcadey trippiness

We were recently given a sneeky peek at the BIT.TRIP COMPLETE on the Wii in preparation for its release date in late March. It's a pretty hard game to classify other than saying it's beat-based retro-arcadey fun. Actually that wasn't that hard.

The BIT.TRIP games are super-simplistic Wii ware type of games, take seconds to learn and ages to perfect. The best way to see exactly what we mean is probably to look at the video below. Incidentally, the video features all six games in the package. That's six different games, not just one really trippy one.

Basically, if you're the kind of person who thinks that games get worse the more complicated you make them, then you'll love the BIT.TRIP collection. If you're the kind of person who enjoys playing retro games and thinks nothing worthwhile has come out 'since the industry went all graphics-heavy with the SNES' then you'll love the BIT.TRIP collection. If you're tired of having to explain to your friends which buttons to press then you'll like the BIT.TRIP collection. BIT.TRIP really needs to be played to understood though, so you'll just have to accept it when we say it's addictive. Very addictive.

Anyway, as we mentioned earlier, BIT.TRIP COMPLETE is out at the end of March (23rd is Amazon's best bet) for the Wii, by which time we'll hopefully have a proper review ready for you. WE'RE SURE YOU'LL LIKE IT.
