First person to say Second Coming was underrated gets banned
Shit then, shit now, get over it
Tue, 18/10/2011 - 11:52 by Tim ChippingIn a move many are already calling absolutely the worst idea ever, the disproportionately revered Manchester band Stone Roses are set to follow Steps and reunite for a series of money motivated concerts.
Despite only managing to make one album anyone liked, the Stone Roses have faced repeated demands to put aside their differences and clang their way through a set of songs that haven't aged well, once again.
Original members Ian Brown, John Squire, Mani and Reni have announced they'll be reuniting for gigs at Heaton Park, Manchester on June 29th & 30th 2012, followed by a world tour. They will also, snigger, be playing, oh god, new material!
Following their acrimonious split in 1996, singer Ian Brown went on to make far better records as a solo artist, bassist Mani joined Primal Scream and seems to be enjoying himself, guitarist John Squire carried on chucking paint at stuff and we’ve no idea what the other one did. He was the one with the hat, right?
A source close to Holy Moly told us: “The original Stone Roses have clearly been watching that Sky Living documentary about Steps getting back together and decided that if Lee Latchford-Evans can bear to be in the same room as H, then there’s nothing stopping Ian and John from burying the hatchet long enough to make a shedload of money by appealing to the misplaced nostalgia of a lot of ageing, sportswear clad men. After all, squiggly paintings won’t pay the rent forever.”
Rumours the band are set to recreate their legendary 1996 Reading Festival appearance bum note for bum note have yet to be confirmed.
Let's not kid ourselves. It's going to be a shit sandwich with a side order of embarrassing spectacle all washed down with a large bitter-tasting glass of regrettable decision. After all, they were never exactly Take That.
Let's hope they do this one, eh?

@Al Simpson I'd call that a success, then. Hooray x2!
This article Fails in every way possible with the exception of highlighting what an utter prick the author is.
@Martin Reeves Hooray! I thought it would take longer than that.
Awful awful article from a tw*t of a ‘journalist’
The Stone Roses were the most important British band of the last 25 years and since the Smiths. Without them Oasis would never have existed and the wave of Britpop would never have happened. Are you even aware what they did for music, how talented they were seen as musicians etc???
Yes they only made two albums, but I suppose an ignorant idiot like you is unaware of all the legal wrangles going on at the time. Plus, their first album is probably the greatest debut album ever and one of the best albums ever.
To compare them to Take That is just nonsensical. Granted, they should leave their memory in the 90s and the term flogging a dead horse comes to mind but to label them as ‘shit then, shit now’ is just idiotic. Let me guess, you were a Take That fan?
Don’t give up your day job Tim, whatever that is!
Pathetic article.
