We didn’t post the Scissor Sisters Shady Love video last week. We wanted to give the song time to sink in. It's not as if we'd been counting the days till the new Scissor Sisters record. Had anyone? Our relationship with the band was like all our relationships really… extremely keen at the start, quickly turning to indifference, contempt and then partial loathing. But are we wrong in thinking Shady Love recaptures some of that initial magic? If only fleetingly…

It ticks over pleasantly enough in a Kylie-probably-loves-this kind of a way, with Jake Shear’s rapping not nearly as bad as that sentence might cause you to imagine. But then it gets properly good with the arrival of Azealia Banks.

We imagine that by the end of 2012 we’ll be sick to the back teeth of Azealia Banks guestspots. But for now… not so much.
