Now we all knew that Britney Spears was pretty messed up earlier this year, but the true extent is just being revealed now, with the US courts discussing whether she should be allowed to look after her own business affairs. 'No' was the fairly clear answer from the Judge, taking one look at the evidence before him and then rushing back into his chambers and locking the door in case Britney turned up to disagree.

For the last few months Britney's life has effectively been under the control of her father Jamie, and it's been a much quieter time than when Britney was under the control of gallons of Starbucks coffee and rampant lunacy. Jamie had been made Britney's 'conservator' up until the end of the year, but the ruling yesterday means that he is now in charge of the star for the rest of her life. Yes, the rest of her life. The commissioner making the ruling pointed out that this meant she could spend more time with the kids and less time with the hair clippers.

 

"The conservatorship is necessary and appropriate for the complexity of financial and business entities and her being susceptible to undue influence."

 

She's really not well, is she? So, if she wants to buy something, promote something or sleep with something (probably), she has to have daddy's agreement. So when he says 'You're not going out dressed like that!' Britney should head on back up to the bedroom, he probably means it.
