Good, Charlotte

Heartiest congratulations to Charlotte Church who gave birth to a seven and a half pound baby boy yesterday. With any luck Charlotte will take advantage of the full six months maternity leave (and then take another six months unpaid leave) so we don't have to watch that shite Channel 4 show until 2010 at the earliest.

Sadly her husband Gavin Henson is forbidden from holding the newborn, due to the fact that he is made from mahogany, and although completely covered in Ronseal he still may harbour splinters which can pierce vulnerable baby flesh. Not that he'll know. You could just show him something shiny and repeat the word 'baby' and he'll be the happiest man on earth.

Charlotte (who actually seems like a lovely woman when not stinking up my TV) announced the joyful news on her website, which doesn't appear to be updated that often seeing as the previous message is from June 2008 and confirming her pregnancy. Children aside, there's not really that much happening in her life, it seems.

The pair have a daughter called Ruby (born a mere 17 months ago, the insane bleeders) who Charlotte named after her favourite thing (a 'Ruby Murray' - curry - very classy). This means that it's Gavin's choice to name the child after his favourite thing.

Welcome to the world, Mirror 'Gavin' Henson.
