Blimey - some people will do anything to get out of sitting at an award ceremony for about a week. Chris Brown almost completed his transformation into Bobby Brown by beating up a "mystery" woman and winding up in the clink. In completely unrelated news, his girlfriend Rihanna decided to cancel her scheduled performace at the ceremony. Presumably because she is lying in a room with a raw steak on her eye.

Police said Mr Brown, 19, had argued with an unidentified woman on Saturday night, and the fight escalated when they got out of a car and is now being interviewed after giving himself up. The woman's identitiy has not been revealed.

 

"The woman suffered visible injuries and identified Brown as her attacker."

 

Again in other unrelated news, this statement was read out by Grammy organisers:

 

"We have just been informed that Rihanna will not be attending tonight's 51st Annual Grammy Awards. We're sorry she is unable to join us,"

Edit: Reports reveal that the unidentified woman is Rihanna. According to sources in the US, Rihanna, real name Robyn Fenty, was assualted with a deadly weapon. if Chris Brown is found guilty of this charge he could face up to nine years in jail.
