He's Got To Be Doing Something

It's all gone very quiet on the Michael Jackson front (and back). If you've been wondering why he's been so quiet musically for the last few years…well it's nothing to do with shame catching up with him or any acceptance of past misdemeanours. No, he's actually been locked away recording over a hundred new songs, none of which he will demand to have rudely penetrated into the popular music charts.

According to his biographer Ian Halperin, author of the grotesquely-titled 'Unmasked: The Michael Jackson Story' there are at least 100 songs recorded by Jackson which he is keeping under wraps in order to give to his children, so that they can have first dibs on selling them off on e-Bay.

If only Michael had thought of the same thing around the time of 'Say, Say, Say' or 'The Girl Is Mine' then the world might be a better place and Paul McCartney's voice might not be going around my head every fucking minute of the last few years. Halperin, no doubt desperate to say anything to drum up some publicity for his even more desperate book said,

"I was astonished by the number of songs which have been held back. I was told that he will not let them come out now but wants to leave them for his kids, a very personal legacy to them."

How lovely for him to leave such a legacy for his offspring. Let's hope that when he dies they inscribe on his tombstone 'This one's for the kids'.

Oh, hang on…
