Miley Cyrus is an acting genius and an all-round legend who already, at the tender age of sixteen, deserves to be ranked with the highest stars in the Hollywood echelon. Not my words but those of one of the most-highly respected movie directors in the world. Well, they're the words of director Peter Chelsom, so they're worth some weight. You know, Peter Chelsom. THE Peter Chelsom, the one who directed the cinematic gold of 'Hannah Montana : The Movie'. Who are we to argue with such a stellar talent at the peak of his powers?

Before the movie he saw Cyrus on the Oprah Winfrey Show, presumably when she was a foetus, and he was mightily impressed by the young girl who could string a sentence together.

 

"I was blown away. I just thought, you know there is no way this girl shouldn't be ranked with Shirley Temple or Judy Garland. I couldn't believe it. It was like watching an evening with Barbra Streisand."

 

Good to see him keeping a sense of perspective there. He must be awfully keen to direct the sequel - 'Hannah Montana's First Menses'. Oh wait, the sucking up continues.

 

"She was 15 for the whole making of the movie... was Barbra doing that at 15? I don't think so."
