As if to prove that not everyone in PR spent their school days licking the Pritt Stick during ‘quiet time’, the film’s UK promotion included painting a giant ‘prehistoric’ Homer next to the Cerne Abbas Giant, in Dorset, which they later topped for the 2007 DVD campaign by floating a 12ft inflatable Spider Pig over Battersea Power Station, in tribute to the legendary Pink Floyd album cover. Apparently a marksman was on standby in case, like the Floyd’s porker, Spider Pig broke free form his moorings and bothered the passing planes.
