You may have read the story last week about the lengths U2 went in order to keep their clothes looking "just shabby" enough to be keeping it real.. well, another mole has been in touch and told us the band's vanity doesn't end there. They worked on a video shoot (below) for the band about seven years ago and were amazed to see The Edge whipping a mirror out of his pocket between almost every take to examine his hat, before moving it at least 0.5mm.

All was going swimmingly until Bono saw the rushes. He didn't like his trousers.

He ordered an extra 1/2 day filming (not cheap) so he could change his trousers and do the takes again.

nb. They actually employ an 'anti-stylist' whose job is to go to jumble sales, charity shops and, his biggest date of the year, Koninginnedag in Amsterdam, in order to acquire, as Bono so humbly puts it, "credible old clothes with a touch of normality so we don't piss the fans off".
