Pigs Might Fly (On Broomsticks)
Mon, 06/07/2009 - 13:13 by Mr. HM
Newspapers have reported the sad news that Rupert Grint, Ron Weasley in the Harry Potter films, is suffering from "mild swine flu". This is complete bullshit.

The reality is that he's had a cold and the Harry Potter premiere is under a serious publicity threat from Michael Jackson.

The funeral of Michael is to take place at exactly the same time as the film's London premiere, which was booked months in advance at considerable expense to Warner Bros.

Since the date of the funeral was announced, the Potter PR people have been desperately trying to claw some column inches back in the wizard's favour to salvage an event that is going to be almost completely overlooked.

The fact that there isn't really any such thing as a "mild bout" of swine flu doesn't really matter.

Thankfully though, all the stories manage to mention that he'll be well enough top attend the PREMIERE ON TUESDAY IN LEICESTER SQUARE.

  • I got a letter from humana family health insurance about all the free h1n1 shots in the area which was pretty nice of them to do since it wasn't on the news lately.

  • I wasn't blaming Grint - I was blaming his PR people for creating a story about a boy with a cold in order to claw some publicity for the premiere which is due to take place at the same time as the Jackson Tribute.

  • So he'll be ok for the premiere this week then? Thank fuck for that -the anxiety attacks that have been plaguing me for months might finally stop now!!

  • Jesus, you have such intelligent and discerning readers, HM. Grint wasn't to blame for this, as is made clear in the article.

Also HM, just about every case of Swine Flu has been "mild", you utter twonks. Governments are getting ready incase it mutates into something stronger, because if it does, we'd be slightly fucked.
