Now here's a reminder of more innocent and less cynical times. A time where a man could appear in a TV advert for Safeguard soap and not have his sexuality questioned. Not like these days. Poor John Travolta seems to always be haunted by rumours these days over his sexuality, despite him doing no more than kissing men in public, jetting off to Turkish baths (in Turkey) and growing a moustache that made him look like the biker from The Village People.

No, here's John in a totally innocent advert from when he was starting his career. It has all the usual Travolta traits, fine melodies, a cheesy grin and three men in a shower rubbing themselves into a lather frenzy, after a game in which they dribbled with sweaty balls.
