I Love You, Man - Out April 17

As much as I want to be endlessly cynical, the truth is I like most of the 'School of Judd Apatow' movies and 'I Love You, Man' is no exception. When successful real estate agent Peter Klaven gets engaged to his dream woman, he finds himself in need of a best man. Realising that he has no close male friends, he sets about finding himself a best buddy (with hilarious consequences etc).

Paul Rudd and Jason Segel have turned out to be surprisingly capable male leads after rising up through the Apatow Machine, and both are as 'funny' and 'charming' as ever in ILY,M. But not as 'funny' and 'charming' as Jon Favreau, who tears the motherfucking place apart. He hasn't been this good since 'Swingers'. Actually, he was sort of this good in 'Four Christmases'. He hasn't been this good since 'Four Christmases'.

It's halfway through April now so I can feel relatively justified in saying this: 'I Love You, Man' is the funniest film I've seen this year. Not that it really matters what I think, it's still going to get thrashed by Hannah Montana.

4 scenes from the trailer with the swearing put back in out of 5

'INTERESTING' FACT: Whoever assembled the soundtrack for this film has yet to discover that there are bands other than Vampire Weekend.
