Reading like an insomniac's self help list this year's Grammy nominations are Duffy! Leona Lewis! Adele! and (yawn) Coldplay! The wild men of rock in Coldplay actually have seven nominations which sounds impressive until you remember that the Grammys has about 150 categories like 'Best Song For a Film Soundtrack Recorded By An Over 50 Year Old (Latin)'.
 
The real 'excitement' comes from Coldplay being up against Radiohead for best album (no really) even though absolutely no one cares who wins, including the bands. They should give it to rapper Lil Wayne who is actually quite good but they won't, it'll go to Coldplay for making labels lots of lovely money rather than that Radiohead lot who put their album on the Internet for FREE.

Everyone's favourite pissed-auntie-on-a-hen-do Duffy gets a mention for Best Newcomer after her Supremes b-side song 'Mercy' miraculously topped the US charts but otherwise there's little else to say. The 7000 hour Grammy ceremony will go out on telly at some point soon so be sure to tune in to see the likes of Rihanna treated like modern day musical messiahs come to save us all from our tedious lives with their pearls of 'Umbrella' wisdom.
