Sit back, make yourself comfortable and get ready for what might just be the best rant of the year.
"I've heard stories from my aunts and uncles and my dad, I had an attitude about Germans, a prejudice about them. I speak several languages and I'm interested in languages. I can read a German paper slowly and can almost figure it out, yet I don't speak German and I realise I don't want to speak German. I don't like the way it sounds and I don't like being in Germany."
So why the fuck would you go to Germany and film a movie about Nazis? I don't like old people but as I tend to avoid nursing homes, bingo halls and post offices I seem to manage. Viggo suddenly realised that he was there to actually sell the film instead of rant about his prejudices so he wiped his spittle off the interviewer's face and tried to make amends.
"By playing a German and trying to be honest about it I sort of got past that prejudice and judgment... Germans are people too!"
Well, that sounded sincere. He's 'sort of' got past it and they 'are people too'. Shit people, obviously, but people nonetheless.
