Which would be all well and good if the BBC had just forgotten about the whole sordid affair and hadn't spunked a wad of cash commissioning a second series.

 

Lily, in her usual 'cheeky' stayle, said: "I made a lot of money out of it. Thank you, licence-payers — that was very nice of you. You think Russell Brand is your problem. Actually, it's me."

 

Well why don't you do the right thing and fall on your sword too?

 

A BBC insider told The Sun: "Not everything has to be a massive ratings success on the BBC. Lily's show was aimed at younger viewers who don't read newspaper reviews — or care about them.

"We were happy with how the programme performed and it was a good effort for someone who has never fronted a television show before."

 

OK, not everything has to be a ratings winner, but usually the argument is for programmes like 'The Today Programme', or Newsnight or Radio 3 concerts that add something you can't get elsewhere, not fucking Lily Allen showing poxy old YouTube clips.

 

You can get shit like that here, for fuck's sake!
