In the series she plays a woman who can see ghosts and even communicate with them, which is more than can be said of the lengthy list of her ex-partners who tend to stay well away from any chance of communicating with her, preferring instead to ignore her calls whilst rotating their finger next to their ears whilst whistling 'cuckoo' noises…
Even though the producer of 'The Ghost Whisperer' is discredited 'psychic' James Van Praagh (a man who ACTUALLY once sadly told the parents of a missing child that his body would be found in a train, four years before he was found alive and well), Jennifer believes that Van Praagh has put her in touch with her grandmother (whose body is definitely not lying in a train waiting to be discovered - he's not making that mistake again). The actress told OK magazine,
"We had an evening with James where he kind of did this thing, and my grandmother came through. She just wanted to say hello and tell me that she was looking out for me. It was really nice."
No wonder. She probably only lives three doors away and still works at the local Esso station down the road. Even more spookily, Van Praagh knows exactly what Hewitt 'Did Last Summer'. He rented the DVD.
