In an interview with Time magazine Kate Winslet has vowed that she will no longer be stripping off in movies and showing off her lumpy pillows and downstairs topiary, news sure to have teenage boys weeping in frustration. And some dirty old men too.

"I think I won't do it again: a) I can't keep getting away with it, and b) I don't want to become 'that actress who always gets her kit off."

 

Is that the sound of a stable door closing as a horse's arse disappears over the horizon? To my knowledge, as well as a recent Vanity Fair photo shoot Kate has stripped off in such movies as (deep breath) Quills, Revolutionary Road, The Reader, Jude, Titanic, Hideous Kinky, Holy Smoke (got the lot out in that one), Beautiful Creatures and Iris (again, got the lot out).  There could be more.

 

In fact most people know Kate's body better than they know their own. Maybe she has one eye on the Oscar ceremony on Sunday and plans to keep her Academy Award-nominated frontage to herself by now, though at least it means we'll be able to watch one of her films without checking our watches and murmuring 'Maybe this time she won't…oh, there they are'.
