You may recall we reported yesterday that the attendance at Paris' 28th birthday celebrations was less than star-studded, the one exception being the presence of Mickey. Who, as it turns out was there by mistake, having dropped into the Butter club in New York by sheer chance as he had his thirsty head on and fancied a nightcap. A massive nightcap.
Obviously, Hilton's fame-hungry entourage were delighted at his unexpected appearance, as Mickey's star is shining brightly following his role in 'The Wrestler', so the people who wouldn't have given him the time of day a year ago welcomed him into their 'private party' with open arms and false smiles.
OK! claim that Rourke turned up at 2am and began drinking in the sparsely-populated lounge. When one of the other brave and desperate guests asked him why he was at Paris Hilton's party, Rourke replied,
"Whose party? I'm not. I don't know...We're having our own party!"
Well thank the Lord for that. Mickey has made some serious errors of judgement in the past (the drugs, the drinking, the surgery etc.) but willingly attending Paris Hilton's party would have topped the lot. He was there by mistake. He still has his sanity. It might only be enough to fill a matchbox, but he still has it.
