Mel Gibson appeared on the US chat show hosted by Jimmy Kimmel on Sunday night and in a brave move decided to talk about the night when he was arrested by the police and the comments he is alleged to have directed towards a female police officer.

It was widely reported at the time that the drunken Gibson tried to install a little humour into the situation by constantly referring to the female officer as 'Sugar Tits', not one of the terms that should be near the top of the list when addressing a woman armed with a taser and gun.

 

However, Mel insisted on the show that it was in fact the female officer who was using the term and not himself. Quite whether she was calling herself 'Sugar Tits' or whether she was using the term towards Mel (seems unlikely that she'd say stuff like 'Step away from the car, Sugar Tits').

 

Gibson was quite vehement in his claim that he didn't use that particular term, but he made no comment on the other words he is said to have used on that crazy drunken night in July 2006. So it looks like he did actually say "You motherfucker, I'm going to fuck you… My life is fucked," to an officer of the law.

 

As well as the now infamous, "Fucking Jews... The Jews are responsible for all the wars in the world. Are you a Jew?"  Maybe Mel should have taken advantage of the whole 'right to remain silent' thing, both in the original arrest and when confronted by proof of his idiocy on a chat show?
