Mickey Rourke is set to cheer himself up after a miserable week. The death of his dog Loki was followed by his missing out on an Oscar for his stunning appearance in 'The Wrestler', so he's decided to boost his spirits by buying a new dog. Yes, that should work. He'll be top of the world in no time.

Mickey has other dogs, but he finds that he misses Loki's grizzled little face terribly and wants to replace the Chihuahua as soon as possible, possibly with another dog that looks a fair bit like himself.

 

Radaronline.com claim that they spoke to a friend of Mickey, who gave them the insight to his current psychological tundra. What a great friend.

 

"Mickey has other dogs but he misses Loki terribly. He doesn't want to wait long either - he wants to get his new pooch this week. The new dog won't replace Loki but by naming it 'Oscar' Mickey says he'll make his comeback year even more special."

 

How sweet to name the dog Oscar, a constant reminder of how close he came to achieving his ultimate dream before falling at the last hurdle. That simply cannot fail to cheer him up every time he stares at the pooch (you know, the one that isn't Loki). Hopefully this won't send Mickey back into full-blown depression and madness. He should call it something more life affirming and uplifting, like "I hate you Sean Penn, you lucky bastard."

 

In much the same way, every time Jason Statham fails to win a major acting award he buys a toothpick. He has nearly enough to build a full-scale Spanish galleon now.
