Stay In Boy

Pete Wentz, husband of Ashlee Simpson and bass player with Fall Out Boy has confessed to an irrational fear, though if I were married to Ashlee Simpson I'd be concentrating on the more rational ones such as 'Is my waif-like wife going to snap in a high wind'?

After a failed suicide attempt in 2005 and a diagnosis of bipolar disorder (how fashionable!) it's clear that Pete already has a fair bit of discomfort in the brain, but his fear of opening the front door still manages to seem a bit on the 'cuckoo' side.

"I refuse to answer my front door because I'm convinced someone is going to murder me. I used to think that some day I'd end up murdering a close friend or relative. Now it's reversed and I'm convinced it's going to happen to me."

All very healthy so far and in no way deranged. I'll bet his window cleaner is simply fuming as he never gets paid, despite repeatedly knocking-on.

"That's the way I'm going out, I'm completely sure of it. So I refuse to answer the front door - it greatly minimises that risk."

Cheer up Pete. If there's a lunatic with a gun knocking on your door there's a fair old chance that he's there to see your wife anyway.
