Not -So-Easy Rider

It's good to see Michael Jackson back and seemingly crazier than ever. The singer is rumoured to be performing a string on concerts at the O2 Arena later in the year, so has set up a small rehearsal gig to hone his talents and check that the magic is still there. He will sing at a party for Russian billionaire Oleg Derispaska in April to ensure his creative (Jesus) juices are still flowing and almost as an afterthought pocket around $2.9m for the experience.

So claims Ian Halperin, author of a new Jackson biography 'Unmasked: The Michael Jackson Story', and if Halperin's skills at writing biography match his skills for coming up with dreadful book titles we're sure to be in for a treat.

After so long away from the stage, Jackson is naturally worry about whether his fragile health will stand up to the rigours of a full concert, hence the warm up before his O2 stint to check and see if his face will stay on for the full 90 minutes under those hot lights.

That's why Michael is asking for no less than nine doctors to be on hand during his performance in Russia. Oh, and he has some other modest demands for the rider as well, according to Halperin.

"The concert would be his first in years and is being seen as a test to see if he could perform in London but a lot depends on his health. The rider for the gig by Jackson's handlers includes a request for nine top doctors to be on site at all times, 11 gourmet chefs, 1,200 bottles of the world's finest bottled water, Bling H2O, and six massage therapists."

If he's drinking 1200 bottles of water a night then a massage will be the last thing he needs. They'll need six massage therapists and nine doctors just to carry him onto the stage. Still, it shows he's as good at taking the piss as ever.
