Tweed was found guilty of attacking Stephen Wilkins in Esex in May 2008, despite denying the offence and claiming he had no recollection of the night out and subsequent assault. That was probably because it was commited after ten vodka and red bulls. He was also on bail during the time for hitting a 16-year-old boy with a golf club back in December 2008.

Tweed's lawyer, Tania Panagiotopoulou, had appealed to the magistrates not to impose an immediate jail term, as Tweed was "extremely regretful". But his "change in personal circumstances", cited by Panagiotopoulou, had been taken into account, with chairman of the magistrate, Magaret Webb, saying:"We have borne in mind the recent change in your personal circumstances and have reflected this in the length of the sentence, which would otherwise have been 18 weeks."

Speaking outside of the court, Tweed's solicitor claimed his family were "considering the prospects of an appeal".
