Marvel Comics' decision to desperately churn out 'introductory' films in preparation for 2011's billion dollar self-congratulatory-backslap Avengers adaptation has had its successes and its failures. If last year's Edward-Norton-boredom-explosion The Incredible Hulk fell into the latter category, then Iron Man was its counterpart triumph.

Amazing for the first hour and pretty much alright for the second, this is easily the best thing Marvel have come up with since Spider-Man. DC Comics can still make more money releasing one Batman film every 10 years though.
