We didn’t go to SXSW. We would’ve done if someone had paid for it and we’d have definitely said it was brilliant. But as no one did we can state that watching shit indie bands in a desert is not our idea of fun. However, it seems there’s been some violence at this year’s industry bash and now we’re more interested.

We have no idea who Screeching Weasel are, but judging by this video they’re your mate’s shit punk band from college. Anyway, lead singer Ben Weasel (we blame the parents) broke off the band’s performance at the Austin music festival to get all upset with members of the audience who’d thrown ice and beer at him (did Sid Vicious die for nothing? Well yes, but that’s not the point).

Turns out it was girls throwing stuff, so Ben did what any self-respecting singer in a rubbish band would do, threatened to get his cock out: “Just so that fucking skanky wench who threw a beer can come and suck on it!” then challenged them to a fight. The challenge was accepted. It’s all over very quickly.

Apparently riot police were tasering people outside the Death From Above 1979 reunion gig. That never happened when we used to go and see The Field Mice.
