Dead Set: E4 27th-31 October

The public often bay for blood in the Big Brother house - they get it.

Writer Charlie Brooker, a long time fan of Big Brother gets the run of E4, Endemol and the Big Brother house and creates an absolutely blinding piece of television, pissing all over the very series it mocks.

Taking a well trodden route (zombies taking over the world - one hapless person manages to survive) previously served by 'Shawn of the Dead' and '28 Days Later', Brooker manages to make what could have been arsehole-squeakingly bad fresh, funny and at times, pretty fucking scary.

That's not to say it isn't without its faults - some of the actors are fucking rubbish, especially the dude with the moustache. When ex-Big Brother contestant Aisleyne Horgan-Wallace and Davina McCall act the professionals out of the park, you really need to ask some serious questions. Jaime Winstone however, is a stroke of genius - finally some talent behind paparazzi frenzy.

Again though, another amazing programme which is in danger of getting lost in the quagmire of multi channel. Why on EARTH this isn't on prime time 10pm Channel 4 all next week is an utter fucking mystery. Like the under-rated Celeb Big Brother: Hijack and countless BBC3 shows, chances are this series will just amble through the ratings like a, erm, zombie, which will be a massive shame as it is so damn good.

9 blood-soaked fingerings out of 10.
