Top Model
Wed, 17/08/2011 - 16:50 by John HillWell, once again it's been an exciting week in BINTM, as we've seen birds shitting on dresses, Amy shitting on her own doorstep and Anastacija arguing with anyone who even thinks about talking to her. Luckily, we met up with Hannah, the most recent evictee from the show and spoke to her about her experiences. Watch out though, she's frighteningly optimistic...
HM: If you had your time on the show again would you do anything differently?
I don't think I'd actually do anything different if I went back. I think I was pretty lucky to get so far and this obviously wasn't meant to be my path, so i'll just have to find my own way into the industry.
HM: How does everyone get on in the house?
Obviously there were some clashes but that's kind of expected to some level, after all it's 13 people who don't know each other moving in together and it's quite a stressful situation. Because everyone wants to do well and your missing home and things like that can really get you down. Everyone was so different there were bound to be clashes in opinions and stuff so on the whole our group dynamic was great.
HM: What was your favourite part of being on the show?
Obviously meeting Alek Wek was huge, we were all absolutely gobsmacked. My jaw just dropped to the ground when she walked out, you know its so exciting even just to be oin the same room as somebody so successful and who I've watched and seen in the magazines and who everybody knows. That was definitely really exciting and something I'll always remember. Plus she was really nice, and came over and spoke to us all.
HM: What did you think of the judges?
I thought they were actually really involved this year, hands on, in the salon for our makeovers, same with the challenges they each had photoshoots they were there for, coaching us through. I thought it was great because it's a fantastic experience as an aspiring model to get feedback from industry experts.
HM: Who was your favourite judge?
Elle Macpherson probably takes my favourite spot just because I've looked up to her for years, I've always watched the shows, so meeting here was a huge deal for me, let alone her seeing such potential in me for me to get that far so it was great getting to interract with her when she put everyone through the nude shoot, she put everyone at ease. In fact every interaction I had with her was good, so yeah, she's probably my favourite.
HM: Who was your least favourite judge?
They all gave a range of critiques, and was just their personal opinion and I never really took it as nasty or having something against me, so even when they were critical I tried to learn from it and I think they all helped me a lot.
HM: Who is your favourite girl on the show?
I was quite close with joanne and stacey and I knew them from the irish auditions. It was certainly a real shame to see joanne go. I've stayed quite close to stacey and she continues to grow, she's fantastic in front of the camera and I hope her confidence continues. Same for Holly, Imogen and Jade, I was quite close to them too. I kind of made my way round the whole group, I was quite an all rounder and I still keep in touch with them all.
HM: Who do you think is going to win?
Everybody is starting to come into their own. Jade especially in the Irish shoot, where she finally came into her own, especially for someone who's never modelled before. Stacey's been fantastic photographically from the beginning, so I hope her confidence grows and I definitely be watching out for her as well.
HM: Has being in the show put you off modelling at all
The complete opposite, in fact it's sparked me on further you know, I've really realised that i enjoyed my experience on the show and I didn't want it to end and it's given me a taste of the dream I guess and I'm definitely going to pursue it myself.
HM: If you didn't get into modelling, what else would you be doing?
If I wasn't doing modelling I would probably be considering considering continuing the route I was on before, and as I did a social science degree the plan was to be a social worker, I've also done a lot of charity work in India so I'd planned on working over there.
HM: Would you try a competition like that again?
I think competitions are fantastic, you get to learn a lot and I've take the whole experience nothing but positively.
HM: Have you been recognised since?
It's quite nice actually. I've had great feedback from the irish public, they've been so supportive. Girls coming up to me and encouraging me, it's just really nice to have that kind of thing at home and really have people supporting me and telling me, even after my elimination people are telling me to keep going and not to give up. It's just further pushing me to succeed
