Jennifer Saunders, not Joanna LumleyJennifer Saunders, not Joanna Lumley

Idiots

There's a possibility we've just had to re-write this entire story because we originally thought it was about Joanna Lumley. The trials and tribulations of gutter journalism, eh Holy Moly readers? Who says we're not professional? As you readers are so fond of saying, why doesn't someone just take away our writing licence?

Anyway, we can now happily confirm it was actually Jennifer Saunders who recently spoke to the Daily Mail about a BBC exec who rang her up about the new series of Ab Fab:

"Someone rang up and asked me if we could put Ab Fab on pre-watershed, and I was like, 'Have you ever seen the show? Could we put Ab Fab on pre-watershed? Are you an idiot? Yes you are, you're an idiot.' Why are there so many idiots? They don't understand how television works, that's what I can't bear. It's that kind of management theory that if you can manage a chain of shops then you can manage a television company, and you want to go, 'No you can't actually.' They are just idiots."

We're all looking forward to the new series, JENNIFER SAUNDERS.

Thanks to Media Monkey for that...
